Address resolution

With the H.323 address (such as E164 telephone number or H323-ID), the gatekeeper searches the matching of the register terminal, technical prefix, technical prefix of the static gateway, remote domain prefix, load balance, and default gatekeeper to get the corresponding IP address.

Access control

The gatekeeper can control which terminals can be added to the H.323 network and take part into the H.323 network. Usually, the gatekeeper permits all terminals to be added to the H.323 network. If the requirement for the network security is high, the gatekeeper can only accept the known terminals.

Bandwidth control

The gatekeeper can monitor and control the network bandwidth used by all calls. With the function, the gatekeeper can prevent total bandwidth used by the voice or video from exceeding the total bandwidth limitation of one area. This ensures that all calls can have enough bandwidth, so as to ensure the call quality.

Load balance

When using the gateway adding mode, the load balance function can help the gateway bear the corresponding call task quantity according to the capability of processing calls and reduce the pressure of one gateway. VGK2X realizes two kinds of load balance. One is to balance the call quantity of the gateway; the other is to balance the calls that pass the gateway FXO relay.

Active/standby switchover

The active/standby switchover is one gatekeeper backup mode, making the whole system more stable. The active gatekeeper is registered to the standby gatekeeper. When the active gatekeeper works normally, the standby gatekeeper does not permit other terminal registration; when the active gatekeeper fails, the terminals registered on the active gatekeeper turn to register on the standby gatekeeper. When the active gatekeeper recovers, the terminals switch back.

Hot backup

The hot backup of multiple VGK2X devices improves the stability of the system running.

Flexible dialup

The so-called big and small numbers is for one domain. In the actual application, the telephone number of one user comprises the domain prefix (such as area code) and one inner number, that is, form the big number. The inner number is the small number, which is used for the dialup between the users in one domain. When dialing the number out of the domain or the outer number dials in, the big number is needed.

Area management

Manage all registered H.323 terminals and provide the address transforming service for them; permit the network designers to decide which terminals or gateways are registered to the different logical domains of the same gatekeeper and manage the logical areas in a unified manner.

Multi-level gatekeeper

Currently, the gatekeeper can support the single-gatekeeper multi-area and multi-gatekeeper multi-area. In the case of multi-gatekeeper multi-area, the areas can set up the plat-level gatekeeper connection and multi-level gatekeeper connection. With the multi-level gatekeeper function, you can expand the management scope of the gatekeeper and enlarge the network scale.

Call control

The gatekeeper helps the H.323 terminal to complete the call with the gateway. The gatekeeper can maintain the current call information table, so as to get to know the busyness of the gateway or terminal, realize the load balance among multiple gateways and provide the system stability.

Security authentication

After receiving the register and call setup request of the terminal, the gatekeeper can adopt H.235 or private protocol to realize the register or call authentication of the gatekeeper for the terminal.

Convenient network management

MyPower VCM2000 is a powerful video private network management platform. All configurations and operations for the gatekeeper can be realized via the video network management platform. Meanwhile, VCM2000 can display the device status in real time and has the same panel view as the device, which is intuitionistic and convenient to operate.
