To promote friendly cooperation between Pakistan and Sichuan and expand bilateral trade, a high-level meeting of Sichuan-Pakistan enterprises was held in Chengdu on April 20, 2007.

Mr.Aziz, Pakistani Prime Minister, attended the meeting. Representatives of popular enterprises in Sichuan and Pakistan such as Maipu, Dongfang Electric Corporation, Nishat Textile Corporation, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and Joint Industry Group had discussed about several fields such as energy, communications, and infrastructure. Invited by the organizer, Jiang Hualin, President of Maipu, attended the meeting and communicated with the Pakistan representative.

 

Mr Aziz and Information Industry Minister of Pakistan expressed great interest for the achievement of Maipu in the communication technology field. The Pakistan enterprise representatives communicated with President Jiang Hualin. It is reported that as soon as the Information Industry Minister of Pakistan returned home, he contacted with Chinese ambassador in Pakistan and represented the government and enterprises to express that they hope to establish long-term cooperative relations with Maipu.
