  • The MP8600 is a carrier-class core router developed by MAIPU with self-owned intellectual properties. It is the best choice as core node in an IP backbone network and IP MAN for service providers. MP8600 is optimal equipment for building national backbone network, as provincial network backbone node and core node for large-scale enterprises. With advanced design concepts such as all modular, distributed features and scalability, MP8600 uses large-capacity switching network ASIC and high-performance network processor technology, providing a switching capacity of 320Gbps. It supports 10Gbps high-speed interfaces, plus hardware-based wire-speed forwarding capability, and a powerful QoS capability, while supporting IPv4/IPv6 dual protocol stacks.

    Expandable switching capability and wire-speed forwarding capability
    With advanced cross-bar switching architecture, MP8600 features excellent scalability. It offers a switching capacity of 320Gbps with support for wire-speed forwarding rate for all interfaces. At the same time, it is compatible with various universal interface boards. With advanced network processor technologies, MP8600 can implement IPv4/IPv6 and MPLS wire-speed forwarding on high-speed interfaces. The packet forwarding capacity of the entire system can reach 200Mpps.
     
    Powerful capability of supporting IPv4/IPv6
    MP8600 supports IPv4/IPv6 static routing protocols and multiple large-scale dynamic routing protocols, such as RIP/RIPng, OSPFv2/v3, IS-IS for IPv4/v6, and BGP4/BGP4+. It also supports 2M~4M routing entries. The powerful routing is proved to be suitable for applications such as Internet backbone network. MP8600 supports multiple transition mechanisms from IPv4 to IPv6, including 4in6, 6in4, 6to4, and 6PE, etc.
     
    Powerful capability of supporting new services
    MP8600 can provide hardware-based bandwidth limitation, with bandwidth control granularity down to 1kbps. It supports multiple queuing, congestion management and congestion avoidance algorithms such as PQ, CQ, LLQ, CBWFQ, and WRED as the QoS mechanism for service implementation. MP8600 supports MPLS-based traffic engineering and VPN services, as well as hardware-based NAT at wire speed and multicast services. It supports functions such as policy routing, load sharing and statistics collection.
     
    MPLS feature
    MP8600 fully supports MPLS, acting as P or PE router. MP8600 supports MPLS wire-speed forwarding. It supports MPLS Fast-Reroute and Traffic Engineering. And it supports L2/L3 MPLS VPN, including VPWS, VPLS/H-VPLS, and L3 VPN based on RFC2547bis.
     
    Carrier-class high reliability
    Key components including switching fabric, main control (routing engine), power supply, fan, and clock, can fully support 1+1 redundancy. Furthermore, all components including interface modules and key components are hot swappable. MP8600 supports MPLS Fast-Reroute and VRRP. MP8600 supports Graceful Restart for advanced routing/signaling protocols to ensure non-stop forwarding.
     
    Excellent management performance
    MP8600 supports SNMP v2/v3 network management protocols and provides a serial port and Ethernet NM interface, as well as in-band and out-band NM. Each control board contains two high-performance embedded CPUs (routing computing CPU and network management CPU) to ensure real-time network monitoring in the case of large capacity routing interaction. It supports CLI and GUI NM.
